Kennedy-Ottinger family papers
Scope and Contents
This series includes letters written by Ray or R.E. Ottinger to Audrey Kennedy during World War II, postcards sent between Kennedy family members in the early 20th century, and a variety of correspondence and other documents from Kennedy and extended family groupings in the 19th century. There are a great many family and friend photographs in the collection, including several photographic images dating from the 19th century (mostly Kennedy- and Peed-related) and some color images and other prints from the 20th century (from the Ottinger family). Audrey Kennedy appears to have been a family genealogist, gathering material from various Kennedy and Ottinger family members.
Some postcards were not used for correspondence but were kept by Spencer Research Library staff because they display images of Kansas City or other Missouri and Kansas locations.
