District Court probate division case files, 1977 - 1981

The Probate Court merged with the District Court in 1977, becoming a division of the court. The probate division has jurisdiction over estates, wills, adoptions, sanity hearings, delinquent and dependent children hearings, marriages, and town incorporations. Case files include all original documents filed in a case. In estate cases these can include copies of the inventory of the estate and the will of the deceased and details about the disposition of the estate.
