The series mostly consists of incoming correspondence to Bruce Arnold, the editor for The Dubliner, but there is also some handwritten and typed copies of his outgoing correspondence. Topics include soliciting pieces from authors and authors sending submissions in the hopes they would be accepted; offering exchanges with other (international) literary journals and negotiating having the journal picked up at bookstores and other locations; individuals and organizations requesting copies of specific issues; individuals discussing articles and other items from specific issues; negotiating prices with authors for accepted submissions; proofing, editing, and other aspects of the business of printing the journal; advertising in other journals; and other related topics regarding the business of the literary journal. There is also sometimes personal matters interspersed with topics around the journal in some letters, as well as discussions of literary gossip and trends.

Includes both typed and handwritten correspondence. Sometimes there are also envelopes, poems and other submissions to the journal, greeting cards, invitations to readings, photographs, and other materials enclosed with the correspondence; these items remain in the same folder with the letters. Correspondents of particular note, due to the substantive nature and/or number of letters from them, include Paul Carroll, Ewart Milne, Niall Montgomery, and Richard Murphy.
