Receipt by the executors of Marlborough's estate (Sarah; Francis, Earl Godolphin; William Clayton; William Guidott; John Hanbury) as assignee of George Viscount Torrington BY 5 orders dated February 23, 1721 of John Smith as one of the four tellers of the Receipt of Exchequer, FOR interest on £25000 lent to the King by Torrington, loan assigned by Torrington to Marlborough.

"6thij shillings. Record' 25 Febry 1722. . ." The 28 [or 20]; Day of Do 1722. Received by me us Sarah Dutchess Dowager of Marlborough, Francis Earl of Godolphin Wm Clayton Wm Guidot & John Hanbury Esqrs Exrs in trust to the Will of John Duke of Marlborough Assignee of George Lord Viscount Torrington by five Orders dated the 23d Day of February 1721 [corrected from 1722] of the Honourable John Smith One of the Four Tellers of the Receipt of His Majesty's Exchequer, the Sum of Twelve hundred and Fifty pounds being for 12 Months interest of £25000 due the 23d Day of February 1722. And by him Lent unto His Majesty upon the Credit of an Act of Parliament, (Entituled, An Act for Granting an Aid of two Shillings in the Pound;) ... together with-Interest ...after the Rate of Five Pounds per Cent, per Annum, at the End of every Three Months...
