These volumes contain notes and plat maps made by Higgins to record property mortgaged to J. B. Watkins Land Mortgage Company. Most of the counties are in Texas, but a few are in Kansas. The first volume (154) contains an index of counties and an index to information about those counties (books A-W). The original lettering sequence of the volumes is stated in title. Volumes were probably completed by Higgins during his travels. Each volume is indexed by mortgagor.
