Includes annual meeting programs, copies of papers Russell and others presented (often with Russell's handwritten comments), correspondence, newsletters, notes for presentations given by Russell, and other materials related to professional associations and lectures given by Russell outside his role as a teaching faculty member at a university. Most of the series consists of records related to the American Society for Environmental History (ASEH) or the Society for the History of Technology (SHOT), but other conferences, symposia, and professional associations are also present. This series may overlap somewhat with the Publications series if it was unclear whether a document was a draft for an article or for a presentation or conference paper.
