Family correspondence, 1929 - 1952

 Series

Scope and Contents

This series contains mostly correspondence between Williams' and Mary Gossard Williams' siblings and spouses. Dick Williams served as a focal point for his brother and sister, as he administrated their parents' estates and disbursed the occasional profits from farm and land holdings. As he was centrally located, most of the family news was sifted and mailed off within the confines of his office. An avid writer, Dick Williams provided an insight into the family life of the 1930s and 1940s.

Births, deaths, and anniversaries are relayed in the correspondence, as well as advice on investments, child-raising, and vitamins. The letters are filed under the last name of the family member writing and chronologically within the file.

Mrs. Dinkins was a sister to Mary Gossard Williams, but as Mr. Dinkins and Dick Williams were business associates, those letters remain in the Watkins collection.
