Photographs, 1913-1927 and undated

 Sub-Series

Scope and Contents

Mostly real photo postcards and black and white prints, there is one mounted print from pre-1913 but undated. Many photographs were identified and dated. Many of the photographs are of Zona herself growing up from soon after her birth to before attending Bethany Academy in 6th grade, often around holidays (Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, etc.). The photos also include what appear to be extended family groups, including with Zona's grandmother (Caroline Wheeler's mother) and aunt Anna (Caroline's sister) and other family members and friends. There are also several photographs of outdoors scenes, both parks and natural formations and farm fields, particularly fields of the Sudan wheat farmed by Carl Wheeler.

The photographs have been organized chronologically with undated photographs at the end; photographs of Zona by herself appear first.
