The bulk of the records are deeds or related to deeds, but some counties may have accounts, business records, family papers, legal records, manorial documents, surveys, official records, or other miscellaneous types of records in addition to deed-related records. These records were not typically associated with a specific family, and often they are too small in number for a specific location within a county to warrant having their own series. There is also a sub-series for counties with 4 or fewer items, and one for foreign countries and territories with 4 or fewer items.
