A Kansan in New York, an anecdote about Morris Garvin, approximately 1941?

 File — Folder: 1, item: 3

Dates

  • Creation: approximately 1941?

Physical Description

2 p.Typescript.

General

Garvin passes himself off as a country bumpkin from Kansas in an attempt to see the New York Yankees play the Detroit Tigers. There seems to be no substantive relationship between the McElroyBuckles letters and this anecdote, but it accompanied Baker's book as did the other materials. (Hazel Bennett Baker, Some Early Facts of History of Pawnee County, Kansas and Stafford County, Kansas. Lawrence, Watson Library, 1943).
