Original arrangement of family/individual research files subseries were organized by the color of the folder. While the original folders have been discarded for preservation reasons, this arrangement was kept by Spencer Library staff. Staff alphabetized the files within these folder sets for ease of access and because there was no further apparent order by Roark, other than the initial grouping of materials.

Component titles were derived from folder titles provided by the Roark family. Spencer Library staff could not determine what 'NOL' stands for.
