This series mostly consists of incoming professional and personal correspondence, both typed and handwritten letters and cards, sent to Wu from family, friends, and literary associates. Items that came with the letters, including photographs and newspaper clippings, remain with the correspondence.

This series also contains copies of correspondence from Wu sent to family and literary associates regarding writing collaborations, publishing concerns, and various personal matters.

The correspondence arrived at Spencer Research Library separated into two categories: "business" and "personal" and has been maintained in that order.
