Typed transcripts of some letters, 1862 - 1863
Dates
- Creation: 1862 - 1863
General
Letters from Henry Gale to his wife Indiana during 1862-1863. The transcriber followed Gale's spelling and grammar and attempted to denote when there was a page turn in the original letter, if the letter was torn, and to describe any markings or other unusual items on letters. The transcriber also used (parentheses) to indicate uncertain spellings and to put in what they believed Gale was attempting to say using modernized, conventional spellings.
