Processing Information
Additional material arrived at the Spencer Research Library in manila folder packaging with no clearly defined order. Spencer processing staff grouped materials based on the various aging, state, or community organizations represented in the collection and organized materials according to what organization was best represented by the majority of a grouping of material. As there was overlap between aging agencies and initiatives, materials related to an aging agency may appear in more than one location in the collection. Material best determined as having personal significance to Harknesss was placed within the Personal sub-series.
Oversize materials were placed at the end of the series in their own subseries for ease of access.
