Scope and Contents

This series contains records created and compiled by Patricia “Pat” Head Hinton. The series also includes records that provide details about her employment at Boeing and Mademoiselle College Board and volunteer work in DeKalb County, Missouri and at the Amity United Methodist Church.

Pat Hinton compiled correspondence between herself and family and friends that provides information about their daily lives, religious service, vacations, employment, family events, and various hobbies and personal pursuits. In addition to this correspondence, the series also includes diaries and journal entries written by Pat that provide further details about her and her family’s daily lives.

Titles were taken from original folder titles. The collection's original organization was largely kept except for a decorated plate designed by Pat Hinton that was physically placed at the end of the collection to better protect the object. Oversize materials and audiovisual records were also removed and placed at separate call numbers.
