Scope and Contents
Photographic prints taken or used by Francis Harper from his travels, of his family and colleagues, and otherwise for his work. Prints may correspond to glass plate or flexible negatives; there may be duplicates scattered across several boxes. Descriptions provided in the finding aid may not be the complete descriptions provided by Harper on the back of individual images.
Processing Information
The photographic prints were processed and described to greater detail in 2022, based on work that had previously been finished by Spencer Research Library staff and volunteers and by Harper himself and/or his family. Items in earlier boxes in the photographic series were typically described in more detail and singularly; items in the latter boxes are typically grouped and described in more general detail. At one point several images regarding Keewatin were pulled out from the rest of the collection, possibly in aid of a research request or as a pilot description project, and these items are described in boxes 45 (prints) and 46 (flexible negatives).
