Correspondence - State, 1923 - 1939
Scope and Contents
This series contains correspondence between Chancellor Lindley and state government agencies, including the Kansas Board of Regents. Much of this correspondence is concerned with university budgets and other administrative matters; however, the series also includes correspondence from Lindley to Kansas Governor Ben Paulen, thanking him for reinstating Lindley as chancellor.
The documents in this series, especially the correspondence between Lindley and the Kansas Board of Administration, contextualize Lindley’s firing at the hands of Governor Davis and show the disagreement between Lindley and Kansas state government.
