Scope and Contents
This series details Chancellor Wescoe’s interactions with University departments and student groups. Wescoe, who led under McCarthyism and saw increased political unrest amongst the student body, dealt with a myriad set of controversies during his leadership. This series includes correspondence concerning the KU Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), anti-Vietnam war protests, and controversy surrounding dorm closing hours, among numerous other topics.
