Correspondence - State, 1969 - 1972
Scope and Contents
Chancellor Chalmers’ correspondence with the Kansas State government, especially the Kansas Board of Regents, illuminates the social and political problems that Chalmers dealt with during his tenure. In particular, this series contains correspondence about the controversy surrounding the firing of Gary Jackson and legal documents about Jackson’s lawsuit against the University. This correspondence shows the administration’s strategy for this and other controversies, as well as Chalmers’ complex relationship with Kansas state government.
