Cataloging

This series contains records documenting Mason's research into cataloging standards and technology. It includes cataloging guidelines, correspondence with institutions on their catalogs and cataloging standards, and conference materials. This series also includes records about the development of the English Short-Title Catalogue (ESTC) and the Incunabula Short Title Catalogue (ISTC), both union catalogs focused on early printed works from the earliest printed works in Europe pre-1500 (that is, incunabula) and from the 16th through 18th centuries. There is also material related to the development of early cataloging practices at the Kenneth Spencer Research Library.
