 Series
Call Number: RH MS 582

Scope and Contents

Materials regarding Francis' research on the Jacob House building in downtown Lawrence at 729-731 Massachusetts Street. Francis discovered that the building was the only structure downtown to survive Quantrill's Raid of 1863 after having been built for politician, newspaper publisher, and Free State activist Josiah Miller. The structure was heavily altered in the 1920s and was later home to Francis Sporting Goods.

Folder titles that do not reflect Carol Francis's original titles are indicated with [brackets]. Much of the material was removed from binders and retains its original order.
