The 1866 letter is addressed to "Lieber Bufs!" with a mailing address for Hartmuth Arndt in Kansas City, Missouri. The 1913 and 1914 letters are addressed to "Liebe Frau Emilie [Dear Mrs. Emilie]," and the back of the 1914 letter appears to consist of a poem or song.

The folder also includes an envelope addressed to Emilie Treat and postmarked September 13, 1914, as well as a postcard addressed from Brooklyn and dated July 24, 1914. Both of these items are also from Siegmar Arndt, Hartmuth's nephew and son of Hartmuth's older brother Karl Treu.
