C.D.P. Havens immigrated to the United States and settled in New York. Most documents refer to Havens as C.D.P., though some also refer to him as Cebalos Don Pedro and Ceballos Daniel Paul. He married Eleanor Frey in 1832 and they had five children: Eugene, Arthur, Paul, Antionette, and Marietta. C.D.P. Havens died in 1847.

Items in the collection suggest that Eleanor married Charles J. Adams around 1850. Though her birth date is unknown, Eleanor Frey Havens Adams died in 1869.
