Biography of Steven Fehr (1951 - )
Steven "Steve" Alan Fehr was born in Grant County, Indiana to Louis "Lou" Alvin (1921-2004) and Irene "Dolly" Syliva (Gulko) Fehr (1926-). Steve Fehr graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in Johnson County, Kansas in 1969 and then received both his bachelors (1973) and juris doctorate (1976) from the University of Kansas.
Fehr was a labor law and professional sports counsel attorney with Jolley, Walsh, Hurley, and Raisher, P.C. from 1984-2015. In 2016 he established his own private practice where he concentrates particularly on labor law related to professional sports. He is also special counsel to the National Hockey League Players Assocation (NHLPA).
In 1982, Steven Fehr married Cynthia "Cindy" Sue Wendt (1951-), the daughter of Charles Sherwood and Cynthia Maxine (Thornsberry) Wendt. They have 3 children: Alexander, Caroline, and Thomas.
