Letter-winged Kite. Alternate name on piece: Elanus inscriptus "Elanus scriptus" used for label and published text. Reversed on stone. Artist's name(s): Gould, John; Richter, Henry Constantine. Richter's work establishes the overall shape and pose, with more finished handling of head, legs, wing, and insect prey, all on top of Gould's sketch and erasures, and with further changes marked by Gould.
