Mycerobas melanozanthos -- Spot-winged Grosbeak. Alternate name on piece: Thaumalea amherstiae [Black-and-yellow grosbeak] Drawing on tissue. A second male bird is shown next to the principal, but this is probably only a trial for a different pose. The vegetation and the position of the butterfly are changed in the published plate. Artist's name(s): Gould, John; Richter, Henry Constantine.
