Rhodopechys sanguineus -- Crimson-winged Finch. Alternate name on piece: Rhodopechys sanguinea Drawing on tissue. The birds are perched on twigs of a coniferous tree, all well-advanced. 2 "out" notes have been added to parts of the tree, slabs of rock sketched in soft pencil and touches of pastel, and 3 flower heads added in blue and green pastel. In the published plate (Birds of Asia V:28) the birds are in the same relative positions but perched on the rocks. Artist's name(s): Gould, John; Hart, William Matthew.
