Separate Maps and Atlases
General
Charts of the real estate pertaining to an estate were drawn up for the same reasons. Most are diagrams of the boundaries of each piece with accompanying legal description of the piece. Some maps show sites of buildings, floor-plans of buildings, or small sketches of the buildings. Topographical features are generally ignored (except for MS J22, which contains many maps giving details of rivers, canals, etc.) There are also charts scattered throughout the "Legal Papers" series and are independent of the volumes listed here. The word “Martilogio” means book of charts.
