Biography of Bayless, John, 1834?-1873
John Bayless was president of the Susquehanna Western Emigration Company, formed in Kirkwood, Broome County, New York, December 7, 1854, for the purpose of settling a township of land in Kansas Territory and founding a corporate town. The town eventually founded was Highland, Iowa township, Doniphan County, Kansas.
