Biography of Lee Radke
Leon Lee Radke was born February 24, 1920 at Russell, Kansas. During World War Ii, he served in the U.S. Air Force and was wounded in service. He married Fern Ethel Ginther, with whom he had two daughters. In the 1950s, Radke and his wife operated the Star Cleaners in Russell. Radke authored the book, The Living Dead, published in 1954. He died on September 21, 1986 at Riverside, California.

This 2-page handwritten letter from Lee Radke, written from Russell, Kansas on March 29, 1956 to University of Kansas librarian Laura Neiswanger accompanied Radke's copy of his book, The Living Dead.
