Warren Zimmerman letters from Wint Smith and Alf M. Landon
Overview
These letters to Warren Zimmerman of Lawrence, Kansas in spring 1960 include two from Wint Smith, U.S. Representative from the Kansas Sixth District, and one from former Kansas Governor Alfred M. Landon. The writers address pressing issues of the time: communism, U.S.-Soviet relations, and the nuclear arms race. Landon describes his recent speaking appearance at a large New York City peace rally sponsored by the National and Greater New York Committees for a Sane Nuclear Policy, held May 19, 1960.
