Personal papers of Albert B. Cook
Overview
Albert Cook taught English at the University of Kansas from 1968-1997. This collection consists of two manuscripts: "John Evelyn's English Grammar" and "The De Analogia Anglicani Sermonis of Thomas Tonkis." Both articles were eventually published in the Leeds Studies in English.

Biography of Albert B. Cook
Albert Baldwin "Sandy" Cook III was born August 29, 1931 in Ionia, Michigan, the son of A.B. Cook, Jr. and Margaret Reineke. He received his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1953 and his M.A. in 1956 and Ph.D. in 1963, both from Western Reserve University. His doctoral dissertation was on English writer John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress.
Cook taught at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa and then Northern Michigan University before joining the University of Kansas faculty in 1968. KU sought his linguistic expertise, and Cook published the textbook Introduction to the English Language. He also served as undergraduate coordinator for ten years. He retired in 1997.
Albert Cook married Jessie Jeanne McMurrough in 1954. They had four children: Susan, David, and twin daughters Ann and Mary. Cook passed away on October 17, 2019.
