Overview
Financial and other business records of Christian Jenkinson, a grocer in Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas, at the turn of the 19th to the 20th centuries. The collection contains some of the business records of Mr. Jenkinson. Coverage of the records is spotty, although there is heavier coverage in the early years of the business. The collection also includes an autograph album owned by Jenkinson from his youth.

Biography of Christian Jenkinson (1861?-1936)
Christian Jenkinson was born in Ohio around 1861, and sometime between 1870 and 1880 he moved to Center Township, Doniphan County in the northeastern tip of Kansas. He owned and operated a rural grocery business there in Troy from 1887-1936. Around 1900 he married a woman named Emma, with whom he had one daughter, Mary Jenkinson.

Most of the collection was purchased in August 1967 from Mary Baker. Photographs were donated by F.C. Baker, 1975.
