Biography of Halderman, John A.
Halderman was private secretary to A. H. Reeder, 1st governor of Kansas Territory; secretary of the first territorial council; probate judge of Leavenworth County; major of the 1st Regiment of Kansas Infantry; appointed provost-marshal-general of Army of the West by Nathaniel Lyon; major-general of the northern division of Kansas state forces; member of both houses of Kansas legislature; consul general in Siam.
