History of Everett Samuel Dellinger

Everett Samuel Dellinger, also known as E. S. Dellinger and Ed Samples (pen name), was born on June 1, 1866 to Peter Franklin Dellinger and Mary Ann (Samples) Dellinger in Norwood, Wright County, Missouri. He died in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico on January 24, 1962. During Everett's lifetime, he was a railroad man, an educator, and a famous author of numerous railroad stories published in pulp fiction magazines in the late 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s such as RAILROAD MAGAZINE and RAILROAD STORIES. Over the years, he lived in Missouri, Kansas, and New Mexico and had three wives: Daisy (Wood) Dellinger, Nancy Florence (House) Dellinger, and Beatrice Belle (Parcels) Dellinger. Both Daisy and Nancy Florence became ill and died during their marriages to Everett. He fathered several children during his first two marriages. Unfortunately, Everett's life was marked with tragic events which included the untimely deaths of wives and children and, finally, his own bout with terminal facial cancer.

Everett Samuel Dellinger lived a very productive life as a railroad man, educator, and author, and the Creator of this collection is very proud to be DNA-related to him, however said Creator regrets that circumstances of life never allowed him to personally know Everett Samuel Dellinger, the Creator's great-half uncle. May this collection in some small way honor the life of this man who so justly deserves to be remembered and honored.
