Biography of Hendrix Family

Verna Mae Hendrix was born and raised in Arkansas. From the age of 16, she taught in public schools there. In 1974, following her marriage to Will Lee Hendrix, Verna Mae moved to Coffeyville where she continued to teach.

Will Lee Hendrix was born in Coffeyville, Kansas. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1943. Hendrix became a trustee of the town's Sardis First Baptist Church. The Hendrix's met through the Baptist Missionary conference.
