Overview
Robert E. Jenks was a University of Kansas graduate and successful Kansas City area architect. This collection contains architectural designs for both private and public facilities, mostly in the Kansas City area on both the Kansas and Missouri sides, dating from 1932-1977.

Biography of Robert E. Jenks
Robert Ellsworth Jenks was born in 1904, graduating from the University of Kansas in 1926 and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with an architecture degree. Thereafter he worked independently and with various architecture firms, including the Kansas City, Missouri-based firm Tanner & Linscott & Associates.
Jenks designed numerous private residences, businesses, and public buildings. He was closely associated with the Kenneth A. and Helen F. Spencer Foundation during much of its existence (1960s-1970s) and designed such buildings as the Kenneth Spencer Research Library and the Helen Foresman Spencer Museum of Art on the University of Kansas' campus, as well as several other large-scale projects with which the Spencer Foundation was involved in the Kansas City area. Robert E. Jenks died in 1981.
