Overview
The Kansas Geological Survey is operated by the University of Kansas. This collection of its records include Kansas Water Board meeting documents, agendas, Kansas Energy Office records, Water Management records, and photographs. While the photographs date from much of the 20th century, the textual materials date only from the 1970s.

History of the Kansas Geological Survey
The Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) was established in 1907 by state statute. Its main headquarters is at the University of Kansas in Lawrence; a satellite Well Sample Library is officed in Wichita. The KGS researches energy, water, and environmental matters throughout Kansas, also addressing natural resource challenges facing the state and generating new information about the state's geology.
