St. Francis Boys' Homes records
Overview
The Rev. Robert H. Mize established and ministered to a number of small missions in western Kansas. In doing so, he frequently came upon runaway boys or those who were in trouble with the law. His general interest in youth ministry became focused in the special needs for the boy in trouble, which resulted ultimately in his establishment of St. Francis Boys' Homes in 1945. The collection contains reports from the White House Conference on Children and Youth, clippings, leaflets, and a number of published pamphlets.
