Building surveys for the Lawrence Downtown Historic Building Survey
Overview
This collection consists of survey forms which contain a history and architectural decription for each of 229 historic buildings in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. The survey content was compiled in 1993 by Deon Wolfenbarger (Three Gables Preservation) for the Lawrence Downtown Historic Building Survey, a project for which she was commissioned by the City of Lawrence and the Lawrence Historic Resources Commission.

Scope and Contents
This collection contains copies of surveys of 229 historic buildings in downtown Lawrence, Kansas, produced by Deon Wolfenbarger for the Lawrence Downtown Historic Building Survey. The surveys, compiled in August 1993, are numbered and are arranged in numerical order. Included is an index, which shows each survey's street address and building name. The surveys contain brief building histories and architectural descriptions, as well as sketches of site plans and photographs. The survey content appears on forms titled "Kansas Historic Resources Inventory Reconnaissance Form," issued by the Kansas State Historical Society's Historic Preservation Department. In Box 2 is a duplicate copy of the surveys, printed in one continuous sequence.
