Frank Ivers Frayne collection
Overview
The Frank Ivers Frayne collection consists of photographs of the Frayne family and other mementos of Frank's theatrical career, as well as some of Frayne's drawings, play manuscripts, accounting records, and correspondence. There are also newspaper clippings and scrapbooks about the Frayne shows and about the Frayne family more generally.

Biography of Frayne, Frank Ivers
Frank I. Frayne was born in Kentucky. He and his brother, Robert, became actors and animal trainers at an early age.
Frank toured the United States and Europe with his company of brilliant animals and dogs. He also wrote and produced nine plays and made a number of appearances on the New York stage. Most of his performances dealt with topics involving the imagery of the West in the United States.
Robert later became a merchant and settled with his wife in Kansas. Frank died in Chicago in 1891, leaving a wife and adopted son.
