Overview
McLaughlin was a member of the Kansas State Board of Regents from 1931-1938 and again in 1939-1955. This collection consists of McLaughlin's memoirs as a member of the Board, Twenty-four Enjoyable Years.

Biography of Drew McLaughlin (1882-1967)
Drew McLaughlin, born in Hiawatha, Kansas in 1882, began his career as a newspaperman at the age of ten, with an apprenticeship on the Hiawatha World. He owned and operated the Sabetha Herald for five years, worked on the Topeka Capitol and the Salina Union, and in 1920 bought the Miami Republican at Paola, all local newspapers in Kansas towns. He was Kansas Editor of the Year in 1965.
McLaughlin was appointed to the Kansas Board of Regents in 1930, a position he held until 1954. He was also politically active, serving as a delegate to the 1928 National Republican Convention held in Kansas City and serving as chairman of the Miami County Republican Party. He was also on the Paola Board of Education. Drew McLaughlin died in 1967.
