History of Anthony Scott Family
Anthony Scott was born in 1846 in Kentucky. He married Anna, also of Kentucky, and in 1880 the family moved from Kentucky to Topeka, Kansas. The couple had five children: James, Thomas, Elder, Mary, and Alvin. Anna Scott died on November 18, 1907 and Anthony followed on January 29, 1917.
In 1890, James, the eldest child, staked out land in the "Cherokee Outlet" of the Oklahoma. Shortly after the turn of the century, James returned to Topeka, where he married Lenetta Brasfield on 18 August 1903. James and Lenetta had eight children: James Jr, Luther, Raymond, George, Charles, Bessie, and Thelma. In 1919, the family moved the Los Angeles, California, where James' descendents still live. Lenetta died in 1963 and James followed on 26 April 1964.

The Anthony Scott Family papers date from 1815-1982 and are arranged in one series: Family Papers. Folders are arranged alphabetically by family member, with alphabetical arrangement within each person's papers. Letters received from other Scott family members are located within the papers of the recipient. A number of items within the collection are fragile.
