This editor's copy of the manuscript, "Bleeding Kansas", covers Kansas; territorial history from the signing of the Kansas-Nebraska Bill by President Benjamin Franklin Pierce in 1854 through the admission of Kansas to the Union in 1861. The proposed index for the published book is also included. The manuscript was published in 1954 under the same title by Oxford University Press, New York City.
