Biography of Don W. Wilson
Don W. Wilson (1942- ) was born in Clay Center, Kansas and earned his bachelor of arts degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He earned his master of arts degree and his Ph.D. in history from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. He served on the history faculty at the University of Michigan and Washburn University. He also worked at the Kansas State Historical Society in Topeka, at at other historical societies and universities.
He worked at several presidential libraries, including the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene, Kansas. President Ronald Reagan nominated Wilson as the Archivist of the United States, which he served from 1987-1993.
