Lee Grinnell Daniels papers
Overview
Sergeant Lee Grinnell Daniels, from Kansas City, Missouri, served as a medic in the Army Air Forces, 49th Fighter Squadron, 14th Fighter Group during World War II. The collection includes letters from family and friends during the latter part of the war, printed ephemera, motivational notes, military forms and information. Of particular interest are a diary Sgt. Daniels kept from late 1941 to early 1945 describing his time at U. S. bases and overseas in England, Italy and Africa and a large photograph of his unit, Company C, 31st Medical Training Battalion in Camp Grant, Illinois, in 1942.
