Personal papers of Paul Coker
Overview
Coker graduated from the University of Kansas in 1951. During his time there he was a cartoonist for the University Daily Kansan, the University's school newspaper. This collection consists of original illustrations and reproduction instructions that were used for the 25th reunion of the Class of 1951, as well as some correspondence and miscellaneous papers that were sent out to the Class of 1951 regarding the reunion.

Biography of Paul Coker
Paul Coker was born in Lawrence, Kansas in 1929 and later graduated from the University of Kansas in 1951. Coker later went on to work in many media, including advertising and greeting cards, as well as for Mad magazine in which one of his illustrations first appeared in 1961. Since then he has gone on to illustrate over 400 articles for the magazine. Coker later went on to design for more than a dozen Rankin-Bass TV specials, including Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus is comin' to Town, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Rudolph's Shiny New Year and The Easter Bunny is Comin' to Town. Coker also collaborated with writer Don Edwing on two comic strips: "Lancelot" and "Horace and Buggy." Coker currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
