Personal papers of Takeru Higuchi
Overview
Higuchi taught Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Kansas from 1967-1986. This collection contains records related to his work: research and reference material, articles written by him by himself and with colleagues, several versions of the manuscript of his book, Solubility, and class slides.

Biography of Takeru Higuchi
Higuchi earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1943. He joined the faculty of the University of Kansas as a Regents Professor of Pharmacy and Chemistry, eventually becoming the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department. He was also known world-wide as the "father of physical pharmacy."
Higuchi received 50 patents in his career, helped start three different research centers for KU, and began eight scholarship funds. He retired in 1983 and died in 1987. In 1989, the biomedial research facility at KU was named the Higuchi Biosciences Center in his honor.
