Overview
This quilt was created by four University of Kansas library staff members, Meg Brown, Kristin Eshelman, Tracy Floreani, and Cindy Pierard, to illustrate the exhibit, No Dreams Deferred: African American Leadership in the Kansas Region, which was mounted at the Kenneth Spencer Research Library in 2000.

History of No Dreams Deferred Exhibition Quilt
Meg Brown, Kristin Eshelman, Tracy Floreani, and Cindy Pierard created the quilt to accompany the No Dreams Deferred: African American Leadership in the Kansas Region exhibit, which was mounted at the University of Kansas Spencer Research Library. Using patchwork techniques and including panels on which photographic images are printed, the quilt illustrates the development of African American leadership through the convergence of religion, education and community. The exhibit featured examples of the Kansas tradition of African American leadership within these three areas (church, education, and community). No Dreams Deferred ran from January 18 to March 31, 2000.
