Biography of William P. Smith (1915-)
Smith received his B.E.E. in 1936 and his M.S. in 1937, both from the University of Minnesota. He received his Ph.D. from Texas in 1950. He joined the University of Kansas faculty of the School of Engineering in 1950, reaching full Professor status in 1953. In 1965 he was named Dean of the School of Engineering and Architecture. He retired in 1981.
